I had this problem on my windows 7 sp1 computer which I have recently updated to Windows 10 but the problem remains exactly the same as it was in windows 7.

It stopped happening for a few weeks, but then there was a new update of Thunderbird (the latest) which I installed, and then the problem started happening again. This does not seem to affect the ability for me to send and receive email on these two gmail accounts but is still annoying and in my experience not fixing such problems usually means something is wrong and will cause trouble down the line.
